It’s a long and winding road to #1 and now Tebey can tell us all about it, with his first Canadian country radio chart topper, Who’s Gonna Love You. The Ontario born-and-raised country singer and songwriter has experienced a lot of great success in his career, but it truly feels like he’s starting a new and exciting chapter right now. We spoke with Tebey this summer, and he told us that he hopes to find a groove that sees him finding success and relevance on a continual basis as his career grows and progresses. And with back-to-back smashes in Denim On Denim and Who’s Gonna Love You, we think Tebey is finding that groove. As a songwriter, Tebey’s talents have been well documented, especially with Justin Moore’s US country […]

Wanted Man, Girl On The Bar, and Nevada Girl have racked up more than 50,000 plays on Spotify and YouTube and have brought him airplay in Canada, as well as the United States, Italy, and even Lebanon. In his early career, Morson has already played some great stages and shows. Tim Hicks is one of Ontario country music’s biggest stars – and he’s still crossing things off of his to-do list. The Niagara-area native has been burning up the Canadian country charts since his debut release in 2012. In the years since, he’s landed 11 singles in the Top 10, he’s toured extensively, and he’s taken home some big awards. Tim Hicks is a 3-time Male Artist of the Year Award winner from the Country Music Association of Ontario (2014, 2015, 2017); he won the Rising Star Award from the Canadian Country Music Association in 2014, along with more than a dozen other nominations; and he has been nominated for Juno Awards as well. The recognition is well deserved and we’re sure there’s more to […]

The early result of that hard work is Eagleson’s debut single, Got Your Name On It. Released as his first work with Universal Music Canada, Got Your Name On It has started to gain momentum online with more than 125,000 YouTube views and more than 400,000 spins on Spotify its first two months. Amanda Jordan knows what it is to be the star of the show and she’s aiming for more of the same, in brighter spotlights, as her career in country music grows. The Smiths Falls, ON native is a singer, songwriter, actress and model, and her hard work at each of those crafts isn’t going unnoticed. The 21-year-old took the stage in Sudbury in February as Brett Kissel’s opener on the We Were That Song Tour. Amanda was selected as one of the top entrants in the #KickItWithKissel contest, impressing the judges with her cover of Kissel’s I Didn’t Fall In Love With Your Hair. We saw Amanda last fall during Toronto’s Indie Week as she took the stage at the M88 Management Group showcase. She […]

When asked why they picked the name Kentucky Rails, the members of the emerging Ontario country band all have the same answer to share… “Kentucky Rails is a metaphor for an underdog/Cinderella story. Everyone is familiar with the Kentucky Derby, but what most people don’t know is that the horses up against the “rails” in the 1st and 20th lanes are at a strategic disadvantage in the race… The members of Kentucky Rails have been grinding their whole lives for the opportunity to showcase our own original music over a broad spectrum and we think that the meaning of the name is symbolic of the struggle that all artists go through in order to achieve that dream.” That grind from band members Justin deGraaf, Ryan […]

Oakville’s Anthony Tullo isn’t interested in cookie-cutter anything, including his career in country music. Tullo has been working on music since his teens – writing, performing, and polishing his skills as he works towards his rock and roll country dreams. 2017 was a big year for the Ontario musician, as he released his album, Rebel, made new waves in his performing career, and pushed himself to new heights all around. The 10 track album was released in November, and features emphatic song titles like Gasoline, Shotgun Ready, and the title track, Rebel. And as the follow up to his 2016 EP, Rebel With A Song, and 2014 release, Switching Tracks, this full-length offering is a great indication of what Anthony Tullo brings to country music […]

They may be young, but that hasn’t stopped a trio of Tillsonburg, ON sisters from making a name for themselves in the country music community. The Small Town Girls (sisters, Haley, Hannah, and Cassie Van Maele) may not yet be household names or radio regulars, but these teenage musicians are doing the legwork that country music admires, as they hone their skills and put in their 10,000 hours on every stage they can. And some of those stages are pretty big! This February, The Small Town Girls will join Brett Kissel on tour as they open his show on the 23rd in North Bay, ON. Their opening spot on the We Were That Song Tour is their second appearance with Kissel, following up their January […]
