December 29, 2019Artist of the Month: Chris Labelle
Y’all know Chris Labelle. The former lead singer of CCMA-nominated and CMAOntario award-winning River Town Saints has started a new chapter in his career as a solo artist on the Canadian country music scene. And he’s ready to get you moving.
Labelle’s lead single on his new project, Say Yeah, was released in August, 2019 and has racked up more than 79,000 plays on Spotify to go with another 85,000 combined views on YouTube. And fans who like Say Yeah should get ready, because there’s more to come.
Posted information on Labelle’s Facebook page tells us that Fight Like A Girl and I Like What I Hear are coming as the next two singles and there’s a new album coming too. That’s exciting news, because sometimes artists release one single, get lots of love, and then we have to wait before they have new music to release as a follow-up. Not this time, which is great.
Anyone who has seen Chris Labelle perform with RTS live knows that he’s high energy and loves to dance and spin and play with the crowd as he sings. What do we expect from his solo shows? The exact same thing!
We’ve had the chance to see Labelle perform more than a few times and to talk to him in interviews and informal chats over the years, and we can tell you that Chris Labelle loves country music. He loves writing and singing and performing – he’s here for the long run.
We’re told that Chris spent eight months in Nashville working on his new solo music. With Say Yeah as the lead and more to come, we’re looking forward to this new chapter of his career.
