Artist of the Month: Mackenzie Leigh Meyer

Hamilton, ON, native Mackenzie Leigh Meyer is motivated to succeed in Canadian country music – propelled by hard work, talent and a desire to do more.

Mackenzie’s debut EP was released in mid-2018 and the title Dive Bar Diva has become somewhat of an identifier for the Ontario artist; so much so that it is her handle on both Twitter and Instagram. The four-song EP was a great introduction to country fans, and she hasn’t slowed down a bit since the release.

A quick look at Meyer’s tour schedule and social media posts show that she is always working. She’s either on stage, writing, or working on new music to release in the (hopefully near) future. She’s a busy woman.

In 2019, Mackenzie had some big moments. She picked up a CMAOntario Award nomination in the Roots Artist or Group of the Year category and she played at the Boots & Hearts festival as a finalist in the Emerging Artist Showcase. Those opportunities and recognitions put a spotlight on her growing career.

With more than 179,000 YouTube views of her original songs and some impressive cover versions (Girl Crush, Whiskey Lullaby), this Steeltown artist has caught the attention of quite a few country music fans over the last few years.

The next big thing on the horizon: Mackenzie’s website tells us that we should be on the lookout for her debut Canadian country radio single in Winter 2020.

Learn more about Mackenzie and stay up to date with her upcoming shows across Ontario, new music news, her upcoming single, behind-the-scenes action and more, on her website and social media channels!
