All the way from Harrow, Ontario to the 2017 Country Music Association of Ontario Awards, Buck Twenty has been on one heck of a journey.
Mike Ure and Aidan Johnson-Bujold’s up-and-coming country duo has worked hard to get to where they are now, playing showcases, acoustic sets, festivals, the Canadian National Exhibition, and more. Most recently, the boys have been seen in the spotlight playing both the CBC’s Easter Seals Telethon, and Canadian Country Music Week. At each stop reports have rolled in that Buck Twenty are well worth the price of admission, and on their way to being seen even more.
And if you’re interested in seeing Mike and Aiden do their thing live, you’ll find them all over the province again this summer, including stops at the CMAOntario Award Show in London (June 11), Mississauga Waterfront Festival (June 16), Trackside Music Festival (July 2), and more.
If you already know Buck Twenty and their music, it may be that you heard them on country radio, or that you have friends that have good taste in country music. And the songs you’ve heard: Keep It Up, Wildflower, Love Song, Tailgate For Two, and Here’s To The Nights – written by the band – are just the start of something special.
So special in fact, that Buck Twenty won’t just be performing at the 2017 Country Music Association of Ontario awards; they’re nominated for the Rising Star Award, alongside The Abrams, Meghan Patrick, River Town Saints and Dani Strong. The nomination is the first in their career, but with the music, hard work, and trajectory that they have set for themselves to this point, we’re willing to bet that we’ll be seeing Buck Twenty on more ballots and nomination announcements in the future.
Twitter-tweet: “Holy ducks on a roof! Our first CMAO nomination!!!”
Buck Twenty’s energy and love for what they do is palpable. It draws people in and helps turn any night into a good night. Don’t wait too long to see these boys – it’s going to get harder and harder to get to the front of the stage.
