A Message from the President (November 2017)

Short message this month folks, but I do want to remind everyone of some important deadlines.

“KICK IT WITH KISSEL” CONTEST

If you have not already uploaded your video to Twitter, Instagram or Facebook using the hashtag #KickItWithKissel you will be missing a chance to open for Brett on his northern Ontario dates in February. Check out our October newsletter as well as our website for contest rules and available markets and dates. The deadline to upload your video is November 30th.

CMAOntario ROADSHOW GOES TO PETERBOROUGH

On Saturday, November 25th, the CMAOntario Roadshow will be pulling into Fleming College to host a daylong program of educational seminars. For aspiring music professionals, artists and songwriters, it is a unique opportunity to network with peers and access industry experts with the potential to impact your career.

A favourite, the DEMORAMA LISTENING SESSION, is your chance to get direct feedback from industry professionals on your demo. Send an MP3 of your song plus a copy of the lyrics by 5:00PM on THURSDAY NOVEMBER 23RD by email to info@cmaontario.ca or you can bring your demo to the session on a USB drive – mp3 format – along with 4 printed copies of the lyrics.

Be sure to check out the Seminar Schedule (beginning at 9:30am) on our website at CMAOntario RoadShow.

Tickets for the RoadShow Learning Exchange are $25.00 for CMAOntario members and $30.00 for non-members. The price includes lunch too!! See it pays to be a member!!

Kim Stoneburg, Chair for the Membership Committee, has been busy looking for new performance opportunities for our members. Over the past several months she has researched more than 55 festivals and 391 fairs that happen throughout the year in Ontario that embrace live music. We are hoping that we can duplicate the success we have had with Lucknow’s Music in the Fields and Havelock Country Jamboree that will give our members an opportunity to perform at their very successful events.

Have a great upcoming month!
