Kitchener, ON’s Josh David is ready to make his mark on the country music scene, and he’s making his first move with his debut single, Safe Place to Break.
With more than 50,000 streams on Safe Place to Break, Josh came back with a little something special and released an acoustic version of the song to go alongside it. Both versions feature the emerging artist’s strong vocal talent and make for a great introduction to Canadian country music fans.
Earlier this year, when asked about his sound and who he would put his own music on a playlist with, Josh mentioned Chris Young, Keith Whitley, Garth Brooks, Chris Stapleton, and Hardy. And when we asked him who he would love to duet with, he said Lauren Alaina and 2019 CCMA Female Artist of the Year winner Tenille Townes were at the top of his list. We’re into all of those ideas – those are all great names.
Josh David may only have one single to country radio, but that doesn’t mean he’s new to music or performing. In his young career, he can already boast that he has opened for artists including Meghan Patrick, The Reklaws, and Aaron Pritchett. We have a feeling that the list and the names are going to grow impressively. And while we don’t know when the live shows we love will resume, we would be willing to bet that Josh will get back to his 100+ shows-per-year schedule when they do.
We asked Josh what he had planned coming up, and he confided that he was already in the studio working on his second single (we’re looking forward to hearing it when it’s ready). And when we asked if there was anyone he’d love to work with on future songs, he named Tebey and Donovan Woods as his top picks. Nothing but the best!
Keep an eye and ear out for Josh David. He’s just getting started and he’s got a lot to offer.
