TIM HICKS RELEASES NEW SINGLE ‘ONE MORE’ JUST IN TIME FOR SUMMER
“One More is about appreciating the little things in life. I wrote it with Dan Couch and Jeff Coplan in Nashville. We knew we had a good one the day we wrote it, but I didn’t fully understand how much I loved this song and what it said until I sang the demo. I immediately fell in love with it and I’m ecstatic it’s being released now. The best part about this track for me, is the outro acapella section. That was actually Dan, Jeff and I stomping, clapping, and singing that part the very second we wrote it. We, of course, added more to it later, but at the core is the three of us, in that moment, captured, which I absolutely love. Can’t wait to sing this with everyone out there all summer long! CADENCE GRACE AND DREW TAYLOR’S NEW RELEASE IN PERFECT HARMONY
Cadence Grace and Drew Taylor shine brightly within the realm of country music, each showcasing their distinctive voices and undeniable talents on stage. Rooted in a deep passion for storytelling, their melodies resonate deeply with audiences, earning them substantial followings as solo artists. Now, they unite their strengths in a captivating duet titled “What If I Didn’t Love You.”
Their journey began nearly a decade ago at a Country Music Association of Ontario Conference, where Drew and Grace forged a friendship grounded in their mutual love for the genre and a shared ambition to craft soul-stirring songs. Over the years, they’ve become trusted collaborators, regularly joining forces to pen heartfelt tunes.
When they, along with fellow writer Chris Buck, wrote “What If I Didn’t Love You” in 2022, there was magic in the room and Drew and Cadence fell in love with the track, ultimately deciding to record it for themselves.
The song explores the bittersweet complexity of love and longing, with Cadence and Drew’s voices intertwining in perfect harmony. From the tender vulnerability of the lyrics to the haunting melody that lingers long after the final note fades away, “What If I Didn’t Love You” is a testament to Cadence and Drew’s undeniable musical chemistry. Radio is taking note, with adds on ten stations and counting, including Sirius XM’s Top of the Country. The tune was recently featured nation wide on Rogers Boomers Canadian Club.
‘What if I Didn’t Love You’ Dropped April 18th, and was chosen to mark and celebrate the 5-year anniversary of Grace’s Bone Marrow Transplant and Leukemia Battle.

AN UPDATE FROM JULIAN TAYLOR
It’s been a busy month with The Juno Awards in Halifax and then the Canadian Folk Music Awards in St.John’s. What a thrill and honour it was to celebrate the life and work of one of my musical heroes Robbie Robertson and to get to share the stage with my friends Aysanabee, Logan Staats, Allison Russell, Shawnee Kish, and William Prince at this year’s The JUNO Awards.
I thoroughly loved performing at The Canadian Folk Music Awards as well this year. Thank you for the invite and the opportunity. It’s always been a dream of mine to perform at an awards show and this spring it happened twice. LOL

I just released new music into the world and every time I do I get a bit nervous. Maybe it’s because I’m a little self conscious and worry that sharing what’s in my heart could hurt. Truth is it always does but as the time rolls on I’m so glad that I have these little time stamps and memories of how things in my life came to be and all of the people in my life that have shaped me. I think that’s why they’re called records. They are moments in time that have been captured in a bottle with a special message from the universe. The actual moment may be physically gone but the memory lives on.
We all sing the same songs albeit a little differently but they are all meant to heal and that should be celebrated. After all, the real meaning of the word Uni-Verse is One Song.
Thank you to my friend Colin Linden. Making this record with you was a wonderful experience that allowed me to discover more about myself and the joy of making music.

GENEVIEVE FISHER RETURNS WITH NOW WE’RE TALKING
“Now We’re Talking” is Genevieve’s first music offering for 2024. This single was yet another which was pitched to her by her producer Jason Massey. It was clear right from the first 30 seconds of the demo that this was a song perfectly suited for Genevieve, her fans and radio. The lyrics and music was put together by a powerhouse writing team which includes Steven Lee Olsen, MacKenzie Porter, Jason Massey and Lydia Vaughan. Although it has been almost a year between singles, she has maintained a busy schedule both professionally and privately. Genevieve continued to expand her flourishing acting career with the filming and promoting of her 2 most recent Television movies, Country Hearts and Country Hearts Christmas. Privately she has taken a number of months to get to know her recently born second son. She looks forward to a busy summer live show schedule.

RUDY GUNN RELEASES NEW SINGLE ‘SLOW DOWN’
RUDY GUNN released their new single “Slow Down” digitally on April 5th with an accompanying lyric video and line dance. The band’s first single “Queen of the Bar Stool Rodeo” hit number 1 on the Canadian Independent Country Chart and made it’s way onto various billboard charts. The band is hoping that “Slow Down” will have as much success as their last single, “Queen Of The Barstool Rodeo”. Of course, the success of the songs and the band couldn’t be done without all of the country music fans and their continued support. Slow Down was released to country radio on April 15th. BREA LAWRENSON RELEASES HER LATEST SINGLE “HATER”
One of Canada’s most exciting independent female artists, known for her extraordinary range and muscular vocals mixed with her classical training – BREA LAWRENSON releases her latest single “HATER ”
Brea Lawrenson is an Ottawa born Country artist who has been creating and sharing music since she was 13. In her teen years, Brea was a pop artist who dominated regional singing competitions in classical and broadway styles. At 21, she switched her genre to Country, and never looked back.

TIM HICKS SORT UN NOUVEAU SINGLE “ONE MORE” JUSTE À TEMPS POUR L’ÉTÉ
“One More parle de l’appréciation des petites choses de la vie. Je l’ai écrite avec Dan Couch et Jeff Coplan à Nashville. Nous savions que nous avions une bonne chanson le jour où nous l’avons écrite, mais je n’ai pas vraiment compris à quel point j’aimais cette chanson et ce qu’elle disait jusqu’à ce que je chante la démo. J’en suis immédiatement tombée amoureuse et je suis ravie qu’elle sorte aujourd’hui. Pour moi, la meilleure partie de ce morceau est la section acapella de l’outro. En fait, Dan, Jeff et moi avons tapé du pied, applaudi et chanté cette partie à la seconde même où nous l’avons écrite. Bien sûr, nous y avons ajouté d’autres éléments par la suite, mais au fond, c’est nous trois, à ce moment-là, qui avons été capturés, ce que j’adore. J’ai hâte de la chanter avec tout le monde tout au long de l’été ! Elle a été conçue pour être chantée par une foule ! (Tim Hicks)

CADENCE GRACE ET LA NOUVELLE SORTIE DE DREW TAYLOR EN PARFAITE HARMONIE
Cadence Grace et Drew Taylor brillent de mille feux dans le domaine de la musique country, chacun mettant en valeur sa voix distincte et ses talents indéniables sur scène. Enracinées dans une profonde passion pour la narration, leurs mélodies trouvent un écho profond auprès du public, ce qui leur a valu d’être largement suivis en tant qu’artistes solo. Le mois a été bien rempli avec les Juno Awards à Halifax et les Canadian Folk Music Awards à St. Quel plaisir et quel honneur de célébrer la vie et l’œuvre de l’un de mes héros musicaux, Robbie Robertson, et de partager la scène avec mes amis Aysanabee, Logan Staats, Allison Russell, Shawnee Kish et William Prince à l’occasion des prix JUNO de cette année.

Je viens de lancer une nouvelle musique dans le monde et à chaque fois que je le fais, je suis un peu nerveuse. C’est peut-être parce que je suis un peu consciente de moi-même et que j’ai peur de blesser en partageant ce que j’ai sur le cœur. En vérité, c’est toujours le cas, mais au fur et à mesure que le temps passe, je suis heureuse d’avoir ces petites marques temporelles et ces souvenirs de la façon dont les choses de ma vie sont arrivées et de toutes les personnes de ma vie qui m’ont façonnée. Je pense que c’est pour cela que l’on parle d’archives. Ce sont des moments dans le temps qui ont été capturés dans une bouteille avec un message spécial de l’univers. L’instant présent a peut-être disparu physiquement, mais le souvenir, lui, perdure.
Nous chantons tous les mêmes chansons, bien qu’un peu différemment, mais elles sont toutes destinées à guérir et il faut s’en réjouir. Après tout, le vrai sens du mot Uni-Verse, c’est une seule chanson.
Merci à mon ami Colin Linden. Faire ce disque avec toi a été une expérience merveilleuse qui m’a permis de mieux me connaître et de découvrir la joie de faire de la musique.

GENEVIEVE FISHER REVIENT AVEC NOW WE’RE TALKING
“Now We’re Talking” est le premier titre de Genevieve pour 2024. Ce single est un autre qui lui a été présenté par son producteur Jason Massey. Dès les 30 premières secondes de la démo, il était clair qu’il s’agissait d’une chanson parfaitement adaptée à Genevieve, à ses fans et à la radio. Les paroles et la musique ont été écrites par une équipe de choc composée de Steven Lee Olsen, MacKenzie Porter, Jason Massey et Lydia Vaughan. Bien qu’il se soit écoulé près d’un an entre deux singles, Genevieve a maintenu un emploi du temps chargé, tant sur le plan professionnel que privé. Genevieve a continué à développer sa carrière d’actrice florissante avec le tournage et la promotion de ses deux derniers téléfilms, Country Hearts et Country Hearts Christmas. En privé, elle a pris quelques mois pour apprendre à connaître son deuxième fils qui vient de naître. Elle se réjouit à l’idée d’avoir un programme de spectacles très chargé cet été.

Pendant son adolescence, Brea était une artiste pop qui a dominé les concours de chant régionaux dans les styles classique et Broadway. À 21 ans, elle a changé de genre pour la musique country et n’a jamais regardé en arrière.
Aujourd’hui, elle est une chanteuse et auteur-compositeur primée qui enregistre toute sa musique à Nashville. Lorsqu’elle est à Ottawa, cette femme au foyer aime communiquer avec ses fans sur les médias sociaux et anime son propre podcast, noté 5 étoiles, intitulé “The Distillery” (La distillerie), où elle partage les histoires qu’elle a vécues en se produisant, en écrivant et en enregistrant partout dans le monde. Son public s’étend des Pays-Bas au Brésil, en passant par le Canada et l’Amérique.
L’été dernier, Brea a célébré une étape importante de sa carrière et l’un de ses rêves les plus fous : elle a partagé la scène en première partie de Shania Twain au Bluesfest d’Ottawa.
