Artist of the Month: Runaway Angel

Cadence Grace, Ann Chaplin and Stacey Zegers have been a powerhouse trio in the form of Runaway Angel for a decade. Their unwavering friendship forms the bedrock of Runaway Angel, and it’s through this genuine bond that their passion for music shines brightest.

Over the years, Runaway Angel has garnered a loyal fan following and industry recognition, making them CCMA Discovery Artist Nominees and 7-Time CMAOntario Award nominees. Their albums, “No End In Sight” and “Zero” made significant impacts, debuting at #5 and #3 on the iTunes Canadian Country Charts. Their music, including the hit single “Witness”, has reached over 150,000 Spotify streams and graced the Top 50 on Canadian country radio.

The trio have taken the stage among the likes of Dierks Bentley, Dallas Smith, Emerson Drive and Terri Clark, on coveted stages like Boots and Hearts Music Festival, Lucknow’s Music In The Fields, The Havelock Jamboree, Trackside Music Festival, and more.

Not only have they thrived collectively, but Cadence, Ann, and Stacey have also had their songwriting featured on TV shows, including Degrassi, Dawson’s Creek, and The Hills.

After a hiatus following a leukemia diagnosis and subsequent battle for Cadence, Runaway Angel have more than proved their resilience, but also, readiness to hit the stage and share new music with listeners.

Runaway Angel splits their time between Toronto and Nashville, crafting the music that will define their next chapter. Their 2023 single, “Beach Please,” showcases their trademark harmonies but also, their light-hearted, fun-loving nature that folks expect to see on stage.

With a fresh perspective and a new energy, Runaway Angel have kicked off the next chapter of their journey on their own terms.
