Brian Tremblay

Brian remembers listening to his first records on the family RCA portable record player stereo when he was very young. They were his sister’s old Beatle records. They were barely playable but the music came through and he was hooked. It wasn’t until a hockey player that played for the Soo Greyhounds boarded at his family’s home did things really change.
Tremblay watched him play his Gibson SG along to B.B. King records. It was fascinating! He decided to ask his parents for a guitar. His very first was a Fender F-25 bought from the local music store. After that, everything was history. But music can be a rocky road. In high school, Brian broke both his wrists and that seriously hampered his guitar playing. To this day, his wrists can start to pain him and make playing certain chords a challenge; yet he persevered. After years and years of playing the local bars, Brian decided to try and write some of his own songs.

Taking the advice of too many other musicians he became disillusioned with his music and walked away from it. Until he was brought back to it again. Brian had the opportunity to create a program for a new local Internet radio station called The Borderline. His show is called “Rock N Roll Heaven” and in it he interviews some icons in the Canadian music industry. After hearing their words on how they came up in the business and their thoughts on songwriting and music, Tremblay was inspired and picked up the guitar again. He began writing and decided to explore some past tracks that he recorded but didn’t do anything with. He brought them back into the daylight and he found there were some shining gems amongst the detritus.

Tremblay formed the Sinister Hearts with some friends and his wife Lynn and played a few local shows. Under the moniker of BrianT & The Sinister Hearts there are 10 singles out now on all the streaming services. They have received much airplay from online radio stations like Radio TFSC (North Dakota), Radio WigWam (UK), Radio What (Arkansas), Only Rock Radio (Spain) and KRAC Radio (Quebec). Their single “By My Time” placed at #3 on Radio TFSC’s Daily Top 24 on July 6, 2021 and “Steel Man” hit their chart again at #10 for the week of November 12. Only Rock Radio placed their song Too Many Kings (And Only One Crown) at #2 for the week of April 25 and#3 for the week of May 23. Although a small market accomplishment, Brian’s song, All In The Game, was #1 on the Radio Alliance chart for Only Rock Radio (Spain) for the week of October 10, 2022!

Brian Tremblay’s music harkens back to the outlaw country singer/songwriters like Townes Van Zandt, Blaze Foley, Steve Earle and Guy Clark. Slipped in with that mix are his early influences of The Beatles and The Monkees. It was the songwriter’s storytelling ability that he was drawn to.

Brian also has other outlets of creative expression that he feels cross over into his music. He’s been successful at photography and has started to paint and draw in a variety of mediums. It’s this imagery that he combines into his songs.
