Radio Still #1

Recent research revealed by Luminate Data¹s Music 360 study should settle a few arguments out there. Through data gathered around the world, the numbers show that in the major English-speaking countries (US, UK, Canada and Australia) and significant European countries (France, Germany, Spain and Italy) Radio is still the #1 method of discovering new music in about half the population. The #2 discovery method is “Friends & Relatives”.  However, in many Latin American countries (Colombia, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina and Chile), Video Streaming is #1. The study also shows that short-clip video platforms (such as TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube shorts) continue their significant growth.

On The Radar: Josh Ross

Now based in Nashville, Ontario’s Josh Ross was recently snapped up by UMC and The Core Entertainment. From Pro Motocross rider to his Country gig, the path he took landed him in the Top 8 in SiriusXM’s Top of the Country, 2022. Last year’s “Before I Loved You” set up the Valentine’s Day release of “First Taste of Gone”, which was climbing through the Top 30 in the Billboard Canadian Country Chart as of the end of April.
