Artiste du mois : Lucas Mason
Lucas Mason captured the attention of millions when he first stepped on stage at Scotiabank Arena with Zach Bryan in March 2024. Not your typical humble beginnings story, but that doesn’t mean Lucas hasn’t been passionate about music from a young age.
Raised in a musical household, Lucas began playing piano, guitar, and singing from an early age; long before he found himself singing “Heading South” in front of thousands of people.
Since that breakout moment, Lucas has embraced the momentum, bringing his own blend of Americana, country, and folk to stages across Ontario, including the Niagara Wine Festival, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Halftime Show, The Horseshoe Tavern, Cicada Fest, North of Nowhere Music Festival, and a standout supporting set for the James Barker Band at Central Niagara.
Rooted in the storytelling traditions of folk, country, and Americana, Lucas’s music establishes him as a songwriter with a sincerity beyond his years. His songwriting reflects themes of youth, change, and vulnerability, drawing influence from artists like Zach Bryan, Tyler Childers, Treaty Oak Revival, Bob Dylan, and Noah Kahan.
His debut EP, Almost 18, released on January 3, 2025, introduces Lucas as a young artist with the ability to draw listeners in, even if being 18 was decades ago. Lucas was recently named one of Front Porch Music’s “Artists to Watch in 2025”, will make his Big Valley Jamboree debut, and is playing the first Misty City Music Festival in Niagara Falls. He will also showcase at Country Music Week in Kelowna at the Diamonds in the Rough showcase.
Lucas Mason’s current single, “Tofino”, produced by Dom Louis, is available everywhere now.
