Artiste du mois : Kristine St-Pierre
Kristine St-Pierre is a singer-songwriter with soul-searching ballads and a rollicking bluesy flair. Described as a ‘chansonnière’ with a travelling heart, Kristine sings with passion, vulnerability and authenticity. Known for her ease on stage, relatable lyrics and memorable voice, Kristine St-Pierre offers music filled with emotion, hope and strength.
Following the release of an EP in 2010 and the album Call Me Crazy in 2012, she released a francophone album called La promesse in late 2017. The album earned her a nomination for “Francophone Songwriter of the Year” at the Canadian Folk Music Awards. She has also received several nominations for CMAOntario Awards and performed at the 2022 awards show.
Kristine is also a strong advocate for equality, taking every opportunity to use her voice and expertise to advance women’s and girls’ rights. This involvement translates into workshops, conferences, shows and songs, like the song “Les femmes”, released on the album La promesse.
She counts herself lucky for having had the opportunity to perform in several countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, as well as in Ukraine and, most recently, in Europe.
These days, you’ll find Kristine in the studio, putting the final touches on her fourth album, which will be released in the fall of 2023.
