INTERNATIONAL SONGWRITING COMPETITION
The International Songwriting Competition (ISC) is an annual song contest whose mission is to provide the opportunity for both aspiring and established songwriters to have their songs heard in a professional, international arena. Amateur and professional songwriters and musicians from anywhere in the world are invited to participate. ISC has always assembled a prestigious panel of judges, with the 2025 panel including Tom Waits, Jennifer Hudson, Paul Stanley, Kristian Bush, Steve Lillywhite, Nancy Wilson and many other household names.
This year, the following Ontario writers snagged two of the limited Honorable Mentions in the Country category:
Bree Taylor, Alex Seier, Ryan Sorestad (“Standing Still” by Bree Taylor)
Jim Payetta, Jason McCoy (“We Are One” by Jason McCoy and Friends)

TOP OF THE COUNTRY FINALISTS ANNOUNCED
Parry Sound, Ontario’s Sully Burrows announced as one of the top three finalists of SiriusXM’s Top of the Country contest. The finalists will connect with top industry experts at CMA Fest in June in Nashville and take the stage at Lasso Montreal in August. The 2025 SiriusXM Top of the Country champion will be crowned in Kelowna, BC during CCMA Country Music Week 2025 this September. The winner will be awarded a grand prize of $25,000 with the two runners-up taking home $10.000 each.
The finale will be broacasted live on SiriusXM’s Top of the Country Radio (Ch. 171), and feature performances from all three finalists.

SATELLITE BIRDHOUSE RELEASES NEW SINGLE SIN CITY
The Capital Music Award-nominated folk duo has released a brand new rendition of “Sin City”, originally by The Flying Burrito Brothers. Featuring rich harmonies and a thoughtful arrangement, the song blends folk, rock, and country influences while staying true to its roots. Special guests Shawn Sasyniuk (drums), Tom Thompson (pedal steel guitar), and Erik Johnson-Scherger (violin, viola, and mandocello) helped shape this version with their incredible musicianship, making it Satellite Birdhouse’s biggest and most expansive collaboration yet.
AMBERLEA BRUCH SET TO RELEASE NEW SINGLE NOTHING ELSE
Woodstock, Ontario artist Amberlea Bruch has been making waves in Nashville since 2023 releasing singles featured on SiriusXM’s Top of The Country. Last June, she made her CMA Fest debut with two full-band showcases. She is set to release a new single titled Nothing Less on June 6th.

Le concours international d’écriture de chansons (ISC) est un concours annuel dont la mission est de permettre à des auteurs-compositeurs en herbe ou confirmés de faire entendre leurs chansons dans un cadre professionnel et international. Les auteurs-compositeurs et musiciens amateurs et professionnels du monde entier sont invités à participer. L’ISC a toujours réuni un jury prestigieux, le jury de 2025 comprenant Tom Waits, Jennifer Hudson, Paul Stanley, Kristian Bush, Steve Lillywhite, Nancy Wilson et bien d’autres grands noms.
Cette année, les écrivains ontariens suivants ont obtenu deux des quelques mentions honorables dans la catégorie « Country ».

ANNONCE DES FINALISTES DU CONCOURS « TOP OF THE COUNTRY
Sully Burrows, de Parry Sound, en Ontario, a été annoncé comme l’un des trois finalistes du concours Top of the Country de SiriusXM. Les finalistes rencontreront les meilleurs experts de l’industrie au CMA Fest en juin à Nashville et monteront sur scène à Lasso Montréal en août. Le champion du concours SiriusXM Top of the Country 2025 sera couronné à Kelowna, en Colombie-Britannique, lors de la Semaine de la musique country 2025 de l’ACMC, en septembre. Une ballade envoûtante sur la cupidité et la ruine : “Sin City” par Satellite Birdhouse
Le duo folk nommé aux Capital Music Awards a publié une toute nouvelle interprétation de “Sin City”, originellement interprétée par The Flying Burrito Brothers. Dotée de riches harmonies et d’un arrangement réfléchi, la chanson mêle des influences folk, rock et country tout en restant fidèle à ses racines. Les invités spéciaux Shawn Sasyniuk (batterie), Tom Thompson (guitare pedal steel) et Erik Johnson-Scherger (violon, alto et mandocello) ont contribué à façonner cette version grâce à leur incroyable talent musical, ce qui en fait la collaboration la plus importante et la plus étendue de Satellite Birdhouse à ce jour.

AMBERLEA BRUCH S’APPRÊTE À SORTIR SON NOUVEAU SINGLE NOTHING ELSE
Amberlea Bruch, artiste de Woodstock (Ontario), fait des vagues à Nashville depuis 2023 en lançant des singles diffusés dans l’émission Top of The Country de SiriusXM. En juin dernier, elle a fait ses débuts au CMA Fest en présentant deux groupes complets. Elle s’apprête à sortir un nouveau single intitulé Nothing Less le 6 juin.
