Igniter Songwriter Camp

We are thrilled to announce a new program: The S.A.C. (Songwriters Association of Canada) and CMAOntario Igniter Songwriting Camp! This is the Ontario version, but the overall initiative aims to nurture emerging talent across Canada, providing collaboration opportunities with professional artists, songwriters, and producers in local communities, helping to build regional creative hubs.

This Igniter will take place in 3 rotating locations in Southern Ontario during the week of March xx to March xx, featuring 3 producers and 6 songwriters. The goal is to work on new music together, in 3 groups, each consisting of a Producer, an Artist and a Songwriter, alternating partners each of the 3 days.

Songwriters and artists of any level are welcome to apply. As this is a CMAOntario supported event, Country, Roots or similar genres will be the focus.

*Selected applicants must be able to cover their own travel over the 3 days. An honorarium will be provided for participants.

The CMAOntario Board and staff will not be involved in the selection process. Applicants’ music will be evaluated by a panel of music industry professionals. Results will be announced the week of February 23, 2026.
