Songs & Stories: Songwriters in the Round The Rec Room

7:30pm – 9:00pm

Creating music means different things to different people. And each musical genre presents its own unique challenges and opportunities, but this group of songwriters all have one thing in common – they continue to write hit after hit. Although different musical styles demand different approaches to performing and recording, a well-written song is a well-written song, whether it’s a country rave-up, an infectious pop standard or a rock anthem. Come hear the songs and stories behind the hits.

Building a business in music requires a realistic understanding of the industry and a strong work ethic. It’s important to be brutally honest with yourself about why you want to pursue a career in music. If you’re looking for quick    success or stability, it may be better to choose a different career path.

However, there are ways to approach the music business in a healthy and financially stable manner, aiming for true and lasting success. The business model for music does not rely on getting discovered, going viral, or landing huge     deals. While these things can happen along the way, it’s not wise to rely solely on luck for success. Instead, focus on the things you can control and take proactive steps to shape your future. This will require strategy, determination, and a desire to take control of your own destiny.

By approaching music as a business, you can increase your chances of achieving financial stability and personal wellbeing. It may not be the easiest path, but with hard work and dedication, it is possible to build a successful and fulfilling career in music.
