Artist of the Month: Bradley Hale
Bradley Hale is quickly becoming independent country music’s most exciting new artist. Growing up surrounded by a strong family interest in country music and generations of farming in Heidelberg, Ontario, Bradley finds the country genre a natural fit. He also had the honour of opening for Owen Riegling, James Barker Band, Steven Lee Olsen, and supporting Brett Young, Muscadine Bloodline and The Reklaws.
Hale’s career really kicked into high gear over the past two years. From opening for Cooper Alan at the iconic Kee to Bala, to becoming a finalist in the Boots and Hearts Emerging Artist Showcase competition, the momentum has continued to build. During this time, he surpassed 900K streams across platforms and continues to gain traction.
Last year, Hale released “Back 40 Bible Verse,” featured on his EP County Line 5, which spent two weeks on the cover of Apple Music Canada’s Country Playlist. This year, the project has already earned recognition by the Country Music Association of Ontario with a nomination for Album of the Year.
The EP gives listeners a deeper look into Hale’s songwriting, blending heartfelt ballads with high-energy country tracks. From emotional, self-penned lyrics to his signature warm baritone voice, County Line 5 showcases both his vulnerability and his ability to deliver songs made for rolling the windows down.
However, that’s not where the end of the road is for the title track. “County Like 5,” co-written with fellow singer-songwriters Sully Burrows and Daryl Scott, is getting new life with a remastered release titled County Line 5 (4X4 Mix).
The next phase of Hale’s career is already underway with a newly signed enhanced distribution deal through Jayward Artist Group. Co-owner Jill Snell explained what stood out most about the emerging artist, sharing, “His songwriting is really informed by how he grew up. I was drawn to Bradley’s illustrative lyrics and his ability to blend classic country, modern country, and singer-songwriter influences in such a beautiful way.”
In response, Hale was also enthusiastic regarding this new endeavour, stating, “I’m really excited about the year ahead. New music is in the works, and we’re building an excellent team. It all feels like exactly what is needed to take things to the next level this year.”
