Artist of the Month: Amber-Jo Bowman
Amber-Jo Bowman is a captivating emerging Canadian country singer-songwriter based just north of Stouffville, Ontario. Her latest single, “Still Got Time” is available now. The single has received editorial support from Amazon Music, including features on Breakthrough Country and Just North of Nashville, along with Spotify’s Fresh Finds Canada. It’s currently also spinning on SiriusXM’s Top of the Country Radio.
“Still Got Time”, the reminder that your timeline is up to you and no one else, follows the summer release “Mad About You”, a whimsical love song about falling hard.
Her musical narrative unfolds against the backdrop of a family farm where her early love for singing, hearing her dad harmonizing along with the radio, and self-taught guitar sessions took root.
The two-time semi-finalist at the Boots and Hearts Emerging Artist Showcase has already graced stages across Country Music Week at the CCMA Awards in Calgary, Hamilton, and Edmonton. Amber-Jo has been able to play alongside MacKenzie Porter, Tebey, Steven Lee Olsen, Jess Moskaluke, and Shawn Austin at the CCMA Gala as part of the house band. She also made her major festival debut at Cavendish Beach Music Festival in 2024.
One of Amber-Jo’s fondest moments as an artist thus far is her performance at Nashville’s coveted “Pitch Meeting” with the phenomenal house band, marking a significant milestone in her flourishing musical journey. Typically, people sign up for Pitch Meeting and are selected, but she was able to get on stage.
Her finely honed songwriting skills are the result of collaborations with artists and lyricists across Canada, as well as cross-border songwriting trips in Nashville. She’s spent time crafting music that is reflective of her own experiences, combining influences from Kacey Musgraves, Laci Kaye Booth, and Carter Faith, along with her rootsy style of Americana country.
