Message from the President

Dear members:

I want to thank all the members who showed confidence by supporting my bid for re-election; I’m honoured to represent the CMAO as President again.
The results of the AGM were as follows:

Re-elected were:
Sam Arraj (President), Cathie Faint, Wendell Ferguson and Brian Allen (Vice President).

Newly Elected were:
Jane Harbury and Amanda Power

I’m very excited about the team we have in place and I would like to welcome Jane Harbury and Amada Power to the Board. They both have a wealth of experience which will help to elevate the CMAO to the next level.

In addition, I’m also very pleased that Cathie Faint, Wendell Ferguson and Brian Allen were re-elected. Over the past two years, they have brought strength, knowledge, passion and resources that have resulted in substantial development for the organization. I’m confident that in the next two years the organization will be in a much better place as result of their commitment to stay on.

Although we have a great team in place, it is with regret that the CMAO announces the resignation of long time Board of Directors member Anya Wilson. Anya leaves us on a high note, having engineered the extensive media campaign for the immensely successful inaugural CMAO Awards, held May 27th. While managing the many clients of her business, Anya Wilson Promotion & Publicity, Anya’s contributions to the CMAO have been numerous. We would like to thank her for her years of dedicated service, and wish her all the best in her future endeavours.

The organization has seen some major growth in the past year due to the inaugural awards show. In order for the organization to continue to grow and to achieve great things, we will need the continued support of all our members and the country music community. Thank you for being there for us.

One of the ways you can help is to consider devoting some of your time to serving on one of our committees. Committee work is a very important part of all our initiatives, and as it is with many things in life, many hands make lighter work. If you are interested in pitching in, please send an email with the subject line “Committees” to Pitch in!

The CMAO summer sticker festival contest has been launched and we have had some very interesting submissions. Go check out some of the pictures

If you have any questions or comments, I would love to hear them. Please send me an email at

Thanks and regards,
Sam Arraj, CPA, CA
