Kate Todd’s first project in 2014 has already been featured on MTV. Nobel Peace Prize recipient’s ‘The World Academy of Arts, Literature and Media’, have asked Kate Todd to be the “Voice of Canada” for their anti-bullying campaign and song, “Walk In Style”. After an incredibly successful CCMA Discovery Program 2013, the Canadian Country Music Association® is pleased to announce that submissions for the CCMA Discovery Program 2014 will open on Thursday, January 30 at 10:00 AM EST. Submissions will close on Thursday, February 27 at 2:00 PM EST.
If you are an up-and-coming Canadian country music act who is eager to learn more about the Canadian music industry, explore mentorship opportunities with established Canadian country music artists, would like to showcase your talent and compete for the coveted prizes associated with the CCMA Discovery Award, this Program is tailor made for YOU!
The CCMA Discovery Program includes the following opportunities in 2014 for six (6) jury-selected Canadian acts: Music Industry Discovery Week: The six (6) selected acts will be flown to Toronto for a week (May 25 to 30) to discover more about the music business and artist development through a wide range of opportunities. Plans for these five intensive days include: industry-led information sessions, branding and media training, media interviews, and the opportunity to perform at a private industry showcase.
Mentorship: The CCMA will be linking each selected act with an established Canadian act for mentorship purposes. This connection will be made following the Music Industry Discovery Week and before arriving in Edmonton for Country Music Week.
Country Music Week Discovery Showcase: Taking the traditional CCMA New Artist Showcase spot on the Thursday night schedule during Country Music Week, this three hour show will put the spotlight on the six selected acts. With a full concert production, backed by a house band, each act will have the opportunity to perform in front of the music industry and fans alike.
CCMA Discovery Award Winner: During Country Music Week, one exceptional CCMA Discovery Program act will be selected by an industry jury to receive the “CCMA Discovery Award” at the CCMA Gala Dinner & Awards. The CCMA Discovery Award winner will also receive music video funding (courtesy of CMT) and other industry related prizing.

Monroeville, PA, United States, 2014/01/12 – Canadian country music singer/songwriter, Marshall Dane has signed a publicity and promotions deal with MTS Management Group. MTS will handle radio promotions for a February single release – MTSManagementGroup.com.
MTS Management Group is proud to announce the signing of Canadian country music artist, Marshall Dane, to a publicity and promotions deal. MTS will handle publicity for the Ontario-based singer. MTS will also oversee the US and international release and radio campaign for Marshall’s single,“Alcohol Abuse.” A February 10, 2014 radio release is scheduled, with a spring US radio tour in talks.
“We are absolutely excited and thrilled to be working with the incredible talent that is Marshall Dane,” said Michael Stover of MTS Management Group. “Marshall is one of those acts that, the first time you hear his music, you are blown away. “Alcohol Abuse” is from Marshall’s latest album, One of These Days, released in May 2013. The song was written by Country Hall of Fame Songwriter Kim Williams (Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire, Rascal Flatts) and Grammy Award Nominee, Billy Yates (Gary Allan, George Strait, Kenny Chesney.) In addition to Marshall Dane’s smooth-as-aged-whiskey vocal delivery, the track features Jeff Fountain (bass), Corey Thompson (drums), Mike Bonnell (keys), Dan Brodbeck (Guitar), Doug Johnson (steel) and Shane Guse (fiddle.)
Marshall Dane is a two-time Country Music Association of Ontario Award Nominee, for Best Male Vocalist and Best Album. He has performed with Alan Jackson and Emerson Drive, in addition to receiving a nomination to represent the New Artist Showcase at the 2011 Canadian Country Music Association Awards. He has also toured extensively with his solo band. Marshall is signed with Danny Goldberg and Don Burton’s Gold Lake Records.
