CMAO Holds Seminar/Demorama in Hamilton on October 27th.
If you’re involved in the business of country music, then we’ve got something you definitely won’t want to miss. The CMAO is holding another in its educational series of Seminar/Panel Discussion/Demoramas, this time in the Hamilton area.
Join us at the Pheasant Plucker, 20 Augusta Street, Hamilton, on Sunday October 27th for 2 panel discussions made up of top artists, publishers, radio music directors, label executives and music industry professionals.
At press time, we can confirm Ontario country artist Marshall Dane, award-winning producer, musician and songwriter Jason Barry, KX 94.7 radio personality Bill Toffan, and music publishing executive Jodie Ferneyhough. More panelists TBA soon. The morning panels will be moderated by former Attic Records exec/ Socan-man, songwriter and producer Brian Allen. Each panel discussion is followed by a Q & A period where you can ask questions and find out exactly what you need to know.
On the lunch break you can stick around and network/schmooze with the pros in a relaxed atmosphere (lunch is not included in the entrance fee). Then in the afternoon we will conduct a Demorama song critique where you can play your song for a group of industry people and get their instant feedback and advice. (Please bring your song on a 44.1 CD and 4-5 copies of the lyric)
Registration begins at 9:30 and the first panel starts at 10:00AM.
Cost is just $15 for CMAO members and $25 for non-members. For tickets or further info contact https://cmaontario.ca
The CMAO DemoRama LIVE series began with ‘standing room only’ success at the inaugural event, hosted by the Free Times Café in Toronto on Sept 21, 2013. DemoRama LIVE is an open mic event, focusing on live performances of original songs, followed by the option to hear a friendly critique of your song by a panel of industry experts, and for a lucky few, having the ultimate chance to perform at a DemoRama Live 2014 “Best Of” Showcase!
Our next DemoRama LIVE is in Hamilton November 2nd,1:00 PM, at Stonewalls Restaurant & Live Music Venue: http://www.stonewallshamilton.com/location/. Listen for ads on our super supportive sponsors – radio stations KX 94.7 Hamilton and KX 96 Oshawa. Jamie Warren is our Special Guest & Expert Panelist. Jamie will perform some songs and share his expertise as a member of the panel. The other panelists will be CMAO directors Brian Allen (Amplus Productions) & Peter Linseman (Music Mentor Productions).
We will be traveling to other great locations across Ontario over the next few months to shine a spotlight on Ontario talent. Although many artists are expected to sign up for a performance slot, each location will yield just 2 finalists, who will ultimately have the chance to move on to our “2014 Best Of DemoRama Showcase” (Location/Date TBA). All finalists will receive a Beer Voucher & Tour Package from Amsterdam Brewery.
Winner of the “Best Of” DemoRama LIVE Showcase will receive a 2014 CMAO Award Show VIP Package for two, which will include having their name announced live at the show. The Winner will also receive a Beer Voucher & Tour Package from Amsterdam Brewery. Additional prizes may be added throughout the duration of the contest.
Our Toronto event had so many great performances that we felt the need to choose 3 finalists – Allister Bradley, Roger Beckett and Shae Dupuy! There were many other performers with similar scores and we encourage all to come out and share your song again!
The CMAO DemoRama LIVE is coming to a town/city near you! We are looking for artists and singer/songwriters to perform and experience networking opportunities, hear industry feedback and experience the chance to showcase & win great prizes.
