Ryan Langdon is a big dude with a big voice and a big dream. The Niagara Falls, ON, native has been singing since he was a kid, and now he’s making waves with a smash single and recognition that includes a 2019 nomination for the Country Music Association of Ontario Rising Star Award.
Released in June, Lit In The Sticks became Langdon’s biggest calling card of the year. Country fans started searching and connecting with the Ontario country singer’s breakout single, with nearly 1 million streams on Spotify and another 22,000+ on YouTube.
That song was the driver behind all the streams Ryan Langdon picked up in 2019. And he shared those numbers on Facebook via Spotify: Almost 235,000 unique listeners across Canada and 75 other countries logged in on the service this year to hear him. That’s not too bad at all – he’s earning every single piece of what he gets.
In that same post where he shared the numbers and expressed his gratitude for 2019, Ryan Langdon said, “I am “PUMPED” to show you what we have in store for you all in 2020…”
We don’t know if “PUMPED” is a clue or a hint, or if Ryan is just really excited for the new year, but if we were going to make a guess, we’d lean toward hint.
The success and emergence of Lit In The Sticks wasn’t the only highlight of Langdon’s 2019, though. At the end of August, he released a countrified cover of Montell Jordan’s This Is How We Do It. Reimagined, it’s a lot of fun to listen to.
Between home and Nashville, Ryan Langdon has been working with some great talent in the country music industry. And if that work leads to an EP or album with the same impact as Lit In The Sticks and previous singles Leave Me Right and She Knows It, it’ll be a giant step forward in his burgeoning career.
Ryan, if you’re reading this, we’re ready for ya!
