Jade Eagleson is making a name for himself on the Canadian country music scene, and he’s just getting started.
The smalltown boy from Bailieboro, ON has been working on new music and getting ready to make a splash since his big win at the Boots & Hearts Emerging Artist Showcase in 2017. The early result of that hard work is Eagleson’s debut single, Got Your Name On It.
Released as his first work with Universal Music Canada, Got Your Name On It has started to gain momentum online with more than 125,000 YouTube views and more than 400,000 spins on Spotify its first two months. That connection with fans on his first single is another big win for the young artist, and a great sign for the future.
On stage and in the studio, Jade Eagleson is a throwback, with the kind of deep, rolling voice that you can’t help but notice from the first note. Recently, at the Budweiser Country Throwdown in Toronto, Eagleson and his band started the show with a cover of The Brothers Osborne’s It Ain’t My Fault – and his ability to make the song sound the way TJ Osborne intended is no small feat.
At that show, Eagleson also told the crowd a little bit about himself when he exclaimed, “I love three things in life: God, my family, and Shania Twain!”, and then he played a cover of Shania’s Any Man Of Mine that had us smiling from ear to ear and singing along. It was a fun moment that showed us Eagleson’s lighthearted side.
Jade’s love for country music is clear when you see him play, and he seems to have a special place in his heart for the classics. We’ve had the chance to see him cover George Jones, Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash and more, in person and on video. And when he plays those songs from the past, they feel like a fit in the best way.
Jade Eagleson will be back at Boots & Hearts 2018, and from there we expect to be seeing a lot of the Ontario farm boy turned rising country star!
