Artist of the Month: Elyse Saunders

Elyse Saunders is a Peterborough, ON native and a 2-time 2021 Country Music Association of Ontario Awards nominee. This talented singer-songwriter has spent the last few years working hard to share her music with country music fans in Canada and beyond.

The 2021 Rising Star and Female Artist of the Year nominee’s most recent release, Sunshine State Of Mind (May 14, 2021), is timed perfectly, as we head into the summer months – still searching for our way back to comfort and togetherness and a sense of normalcy. It’s a smooth track, designed for Saunders to show off her vocal skills, groove through the lyrics and take you to another place while you listen.

In a social media post a week after the single release, Elyse said, “Sunshine State Of Mind was written to give the listener a vacation landscape during a time when we’re all craving to get away; and shares the reminder of finding a personal paradise no matter where we are… it’s a way of life. I believe that if you’re with the right loving person or you carry that positive mindset with you, you’ll always find happiness. With all of the seriousness in the world, we hope this song can bring you that sunny state of mind.” We’re into it.

When we caught up with her last summer, Elyse Saunders was in Vancouver working on new music. And if Sunshine State Of Mind is a hint of the future, we should all be excited to hear more. We also know that Elyse has been filming an official music video for Sunshine State Of Mind, so keep your eyes out for that, coming soon.

There’s a lot to look forward to. We know that Elyse is looking forward to the 2021 Country Music Association of Ontario Awards (Sunday, September 5, 2021) and we’re looking forward to hearing more new music from her when the time comes.
