All Hands on Deck: 2013 CMAO Awards Finale

Has it been almost a year already?

Here we go again – the SECOND Annual (feels really good to type that) CMAO Awards Show!

As we were striking the set from last year’s show, the theatre manager approached us and basically insisted that we return… and with the euphoria still hanging in the air, how could we refuse? Within minutes of the house lights coming up, Slaight Music committed to being our title sponsor again for 2014. Plus, as a bonus we couldn’t have predicted, there was a blizzard of glowing posts and photos dropped on social media for almost a month following the show.

A sold-out crowd of 520 happy and loud country fans joined us last year and we at the CMAO were so impressed with the calibre and depth of talent that we actually started wondering how we were going to top it.

Well, we’re not wondering any more!

The 2014 CMAO Awards will be held again at the Flato Markham Theatre in Markham, Ontario, on May 26th. Our host this year will be the wickedly talented Jason McCoy. Here are the performers confirmed to date:

AUTUMN HILL
JASON BLAINE
MARSHALL DANE
THE GOOD FAMILY BAND
TIM HICKS
THE LOVELOCKS
JASON McCOY
JORDAN McINTOSH
BEVERLEY MAHOOD
DERIC RUTTAN
SMALL TOWN PISTOLS
TEBEY
THE WESTERN SWING AUTHORITY

With all the hits represented by this list, we are guaranteed to rock that theatre!

This year, the Impact Award, which recognizes an artist, group, industry personality or company/organization that has left an enduring and indelibly positive footprint on the landscape of country music in Ontario, will be handed to a Canadian music icon: Gordon Lightfoot!

The CMAO Board of Directors voted to add two new categories for 2014: Roots Artist or Group of the Year, and Record Producer(s) of the Year. For a complete list of the nominees in all categories, please visit: https://cmaontario.ca/2014-cmao-nominees.

The deadline for final ballot returns is May 2nd.

Ontario has proven that we can stand with the best in country music. You will not want to endure all the “You shoulda been there” stories that went around last year. The best way to avoid that is – join us! Tickets are again a ridiculously good value, and can be found along with more award show details at https://cmaontario.ca.

See you on May 26th!
