• The United States is the largest recorded music exporter, with Canada, Australia and New Zealand importing the most from the U.S. Using metadata from Luminate’s Data Enrichment product, Luminate analyzed songwriter representation among 2024’s Top 1000 most-streamed songs. The U.S. leads globally, followed by the UK, Canada, Sweden, and France.
• Canada’s Top 3 suppliers of non-Canadian music are: United States, United Kingdom and Australia.
• Globally, 2024 on-demand streaming increased by 14% over 2023.
• There was an average of 99,000 new titles delivered to DSPs (digital service providers like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube et al.) each day in 2024, which is down 4.4% from 2023, when there was an average of 103,500 delivered each day.
