Every month we feature a member of the Board of Directors so you can get to know the people working on your behalf here at the CMAO. This month’s featured Director is none other than Santa Claus.
At this time of year, he hasn’t got much time to come to meetings as he’s busy cooking up something big for everyone. But rest assured, his leadership abilities and extensive experience are in constant demand at the CMAO. He only makes one public appearance a year, and that will be later this month. Look for him on the evening of the 24th. He’s the one Director that tries to meet each member personally. Here’s a brief bio of his accomplishments:
Originally one of the “Kringle Singers” he’s had many stage names over his long career: St. Nicholas, Father Christmas, Kris Kringle, Sinterklaas and St. Nick. A true artist like Santa knows you have to reinvent yourself every century or so to keep things fresh.
We appreciate his presence on the CMAO board, (and his presents on the board). He’s a valuable contributor on any labour negotiations, as he’s had years of dealing with the carpenters union and the toy-makers guild. He assists artists with tour routing as he knows every person in the world (well, all of the good ones anyway) and is familiar with how to get to their house. He’s spearheading the ‘greening’ of our office, as he’s very concerned with environmental issues like: endangered species (flying reindeer); power generation (coal-lump shortages) and global warming (the melting of the poles, especially the North one). He’s also authored many best-selling ‘Elf-Help’ books and is an expert in contract law….as he knows there ain’t no Sanity Clause.
Santa currently resides in Canada just north of Alert, off Ellesmere Island. His postal code is H0H 0H0. However, after the busy season, he heads for the warmer climates (Christmas Island) with his wife of over 7 centuries, Mrs. Claus.
