I hope everyone has been enjoying the lazy days of summer. We at the CMAO have been working hard, but I must confess I have taken a bit of time to sit back with a cold one. There are several things I wish to bring to your attention in this issue of the newsletter:
1. Please review the eligibility criteria that has been announced in this newsletter and start thinking about who you think should be nominated for the inaugural CMAO awards. Click here for more about the Awards
We have yet to name the awards and so if anyone comes up with the name that we select, they will win a pair of tickets to the awards show. So put your thinking caps on and send in your suggestions. We will close the competition at the end of October 2012.
2. Please arrange to attend the AGM or arrange for your proxy to be forwarded so that your vote can count. The AGM is an important part of the business structure of the organization and all members should be involved and participate in person or by proxy. It shows that you have an interest in what we are doing. Click here for more about the AGM
3. This is my final newsletter in which I will be providing a Message from the President. Due to personal reasons I will not be standing for re-election to the Board at the upcoming AGM. I will however remain involved in the role of Past President and will be doing what I can to continue to support the good work done by the CMAO.
I want to take this opportunity to thank my fellow Board members (past and present) for their support of my vision and affording me the opportunity to lead the CMAO. It has been an honor and a privilege. I am very proud of all that we have accomplished and I look forward to seeing things move forward even further.
While I will not be serving on the Board of Directors, know that my commitment to the CMAO, its mission and mandate and its members remains constant.
I look forward to the AGM and wish all of you the very best in your future endeavors.
Heather Ostertag, C.M.
